How to Play Slots and Actually Walk Away Up — Bankroll Management 101

Anonymous · 7/16/2026, 10:55:41 AM
Sister thread to the "How to Win" post but focused purely on the mechanics of playing sessions that end in profit more often than not. **The framework I've used for 3 years:** - **Session bankroll:** 1% of monthly gambling budget per session. £500 monthly? £5 sessions. - **Bet size:** session bankroll / 100. £5 session = 5p spins. - **Session length:** 20 minutes MAX. Timer on your phone. - **Target:** 2x session bankroll. Hit it? STOP. Withdraw immediately, not "one more spin". - **Loss cap:** 100% of session bankroll. Empty = done for the day. Sounds boring. It is boring. That's the point — you're trying to remove emotion, not chase adrenaline. Tracking every session in a Notion doc for 18 months, I'm +£340 net across ~600 sessions. Not life changing but genuinely profitable, which is not something 95% of slot players can say.

The 20 minute timer is genius. That's where I always lose it — chasing after I'm up because "one more bonus round".

Started tracking sessions after reading this last week. Immediately noticed I lose 80% of sessions that go past 30 mins. Cause and effect right there.

Withdraw immediately is the golden rule. If it's in your bank it's real. If it's in the casino balance it's tomorrow's deposit.

+£340 across 600 sessions is genuinely elite for slots. Most people are 4-figures down over that volume.
