Grinding NL25-NL100 6-max cash for 8 years. Here's the honest 2026 version of what works, because half the advice online is from 2014 and doesn't apply anymore.
**The non-negotiables:**
1. **Learn a solver-based preflop chart.** GTO Wizard or Hand2Note. If your opening ranges are wrong, nothing downstream matters.
2. **3-bet more.** Modern pools call too wide preflop and fold too much to c-bets post. Widen your 3-bet range with suited connectors and Ax suited from LP.
3. **C-bet SMALLER on dry boards.** 25-33% pot on A-high dry, not 66%. Higher fold equity per £ risked.
4. **Study opponent tendencies, not just your hands.** Colour-code regs, tag fish, note who folds to river bluffs. This is where 90% of your winrate lives.
5. **Play fewer tables.** 3-4 max unless you're at low stakes grinding rakeback. Quality > volume.
6. **Session length under 2 hours.** Post-2hr decision quality collapses. It's measurable.
7. **Bankroll: 30 buy-ins minimum for cash, 100 for MTTs.** Move down at 20/60. Ego is expensive.
