Blackjack has the lowest house edge of any casino game IF (and only if) you play perfect basic strategy on a decent rule set. That's it. That's the game.
**Non-negotiable rules to look for:**
- 3:2 blackjack payout (never 6:5 — it triples the house edge)
- Dealer stands on soft 17 (S17)
- Double after split allowed (DAS)
- Late surrender available (huge)
- 6 decks or fewer
Under those rules, perfect basic strategy = ~0.4% house edge. You're paying 40p per £100 wagered on average. That's the best deal in any casino.
**Card counting online?** No. Every online blackjack shuffles after every hand (or uses live dealer with 50% penetration + no-mid-shoe entry). Counting is dead online. Don't waste your time with "systems" — they don't exist.
**Live dealer > RNG.** Better feel, same maths, and you can actually see the shuffle. Evolution's Infinite Blackjack is a good starting point.
**Bankroll:** 40 units minimum. £5 min bet? £200 in your account.
Play flat stakes. No Martingale. No progression systems. They mathematically increase your ruin probability, they do not increase your win probability.
